Joyce Lacey Bio:

On leaving McLean High School in 1960, my teaching career ended.  My husband, a Foreign Service Officer, and I spent 21 of the next 26 years overseas.  We lived in Manila, Hamburg, Bangkok, Stuttgart, Santiago, and Caracas.  During those times, I was a volunteer for a wide variety of local charities.  I found working with people of other nationalities was a wonderful way to know them, when we were all working for the same cause.  We had thousands of guests in our home for lunches, dinners, and receptions, and, as a result, I became interested in cooking and learning about food preparation of many cultures.  Those were wonderful years, but I do regret not having had more time with high school students  just like those from McLean High.
